Rules of Play
- Play will be conducted in accordance with the rules adopted by
the Canadian Curling Association.
- All matches, including finals, will be eight ends.
- Last rock in the first end and rock colours in all games shall
be determined by a coin toss in the traditional manner.
- Ties will be broken by an extra end or ends, played toward the
main viewing area.
- There will be no time clocks in use during the bonspiel. Curlers
are asked to observe ordinary courtesies concerning speed of play.
- In any game in which at least one participating team is playing
its first game, both teams shall have a short practice time for one
rock down, one rock back for each player. No other practice times
are permitted.
- In the championship final, teams shall have the option of
choosing a full set of rocks from any sheet. Following the coin
toss, the team without hammer will have first choice of rocks and
colour, followed by the team with hammer.
- In the case of a dispute that cannot be resolved on the ice
between teams, an umpire will be available to make a ruling. Please
see Kris Schulz in this event.
- All teams winning prizes are asked to remain at the club such
that cheques may be presented and photographs taken.
- If a team is not ready to start play at the appointed time, then
one end shall be counted for each ten minutes delay, and one point
shall be given to the team present and ready to play for each full
period of ten minutes it is kept waiting. The non-offending team
shall have last rock advantage on the first end of play. If the
delay exceeds thirty-five minutes, then the game shall be awarded to
the waiting team by default.
The Shootout
Of the three teams qualifying from the A flight, two will receive
byes to the second round of the Championship bracket. And in the
Consolation bracket, two teams will receive byes to the second round. To
determine the teams to receive the byes, All TEAMS WILL
PARTICIPATE IN A SHOOTOUT AFTER EITHER THEIR FIRST OR SECOND GAME ON
FRIDAY. Please advise Kris Schulz when you want to do your
shoot out before the game.

- Each rock will be measured from the pin and recorded by a
volunteer.
- The rock will be removed and the next member will throw, and so
on until all four rocks have been thrown.
- The total distance of all 4 rocks away from the pin will be
recorded.
- If you cover the pin you will get a 0; if you are outside the
rings you will get 72.
- The top two teams in the shootout among the three A flight
qualifiers, and the top two teams in the shootout among Consolation
bracket teams, will receive a bye in the first round of their
respective brackets.
